Science Says Healthy, Active Kids Get Better Grades

Posted: May 21, 2019

All parents want their kids to live active and healthy lifestyles – but in the age of streaming services, smartphones and a seemingly infinite number of time-wasting apps, getting children up and moving is a whole lot easier said than done.

That’s why more kids than ever are slipping into sedentary lifestyles, and it’s wreaking havoc on their health.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), we are in the midst of an irrefutable global obesity crisis – and it’s hitting children particularly hard. These five kids found themselves in a bad spot, but because of their martial arts training, they were better equipped to handle what was happening, and may have even saved their own lives!

Respect, as they say, isn’t given.  It is earned.  But to earn it, you have to show it.Respect is one of the six life skills taught in the ATA Leadership Program and is also the life skill for July and August.  Like the other life skills, respect is developed and shown in different ways and is comprised of different principles.  But the primary thing, as with most important goals in martial arts and elsewhere in life, is that to develop and earn respect you have to work at it the way you work at perfecting your technique on the mat.
